The International Foundation of Microbiology was founded in 1967 by Dr. Haque.
Originally located at 729 S. Western in Chicago, the foundation offered courses in lab technology.
In the 1970s the foundation partnered with the City of Chicago CETA programs, and was able to enroll hundreds of students in a 3-month summer program.
Graduates of the program include an 11-year old Fareed Haque, as well as students like Judy, identified as ‘verbally and aurally challenged’.
